My art originates from memories of particular moments in my life. To me, portraying the emotional context of these memories and time periods is more important than recreating the exact details of the scene, and I use lighting, color, and thematic composition to enhance the portrayal of these emotions. I grew up in the mountains of Washington State, and the wilderness has always been an escape for me. Most of my work consists of recollections from my time in nature.
