Krista, a visual artist, explores mixed metal forms inspired by nature. Her contemporary metalworks have been showcased in juried and exhibition shows across Southern Ontario; as well as featured in gallery shows at the Paula White Diamond Gallery in Waterloo, Ontario, the Tom Thomson Gallery in Meaford, Ontario, the Jackalope Gallery in Toronto, Ontario, and the showroom at the Guelph Art Gallery, Guelph, Ontario. My work of contemporary metalwork explores mixed metal forms inspired by nature. I focus on the latter half of the cycle of life, from death comes new life working primarily in semi-precious metals and natural found objects. Favouring a dynamic natural approach emulating the impermanence of coastal landscapes and delicate ecosystems. It is the focus on the latter half of the life cycle that allows these layers to be explored, capturing a moment in time that may be lost to ecotourism over time.
