I grew up in a Buddhist temple in Japan and studied conflict resolution/peace building and clinical social work for my graduate studies in the States. I have traveled to conflict zones for research and provided mental health therapies with the special interest in trauma and mindfulness. After taking a career break and raising my boys, I decided to revisit my childhood dream of becoming an artist. I have never had formal art trainings as an adult. This is the first piece to incorporate my past experiences with my newly acquired love of outdoor and spiritual experiences.
