My name is Marwa Khamis , an Emerging Egyptian painter. I graduated from the Faculty of FineArts in Alexandria, specializing in mural painting.
I conviction is that art isn’t just an image, but an idea summed up by design.I see that freedom is a necessary tool for artists. Mainly I inspired by Russian art movement – Supermatism – and Wassily Kandinsky style. I believe that art doesn’t supposed to be political and social ideas. The artist must be free and independent in order to create to creative a true work of art.
Working in gouache colors on paper, for its versatility, it can mimic the look and feel of acrylic, water color and even oil paint.
In my paintings, I seek to create harmonious and balanced compositions, free of interpretation; Paintings rely on an imaginary world whose source is the unconscious to liberate from the constraints of reality through geometric abstract shapes.
