Helen McNulty (b.1980 - Co. Fermanagh) lives in Co, Wicklow, Ireland. She is a storyteller who, raised on yarns and songs, uses pictures, words, and her own voice to create atmospheres reminiscent of her early cultural diet. She draws out the darkness in landscapes, mindscapes, and relationships, twisting the heavy presence into something comic. Her work touches on the oddities and pathos of the ordinary and fuses them with myth. She draws on sources from her own history, as well as Greek and Irish mythology. Her work is in private collections in Norway, Finland, the USA, Canada, Malaysia, UK, and Ireland.
