My work is almost wholly comprised of inherited, donated, and thrifted supplies. Born out of a desire to honor materials inherited from my grandmother even though I could never get the hang of sewing, I decided to start putting her buttons on canvases. After sharing my work on the neighborhood site NextDoor I received an overwhelming community response and was able to pick up carloads of supplies from neighbors at no cost - this skyrocketed my creativity and has opened up a world of possibilities. My focus is now to honor these materials in fun and unexpected ways, hoping to inspire others to take another look at their supplies and try something new.
