Born in Hilo, Hawaii, Siobhan Kekoa (Barrett) is a professional
5th Generation Afro-Indigenous Wabanaki-descent Designer and Artist,
Traditional Medicine Practitioner, and disabled Air Force Veteran.
My work is steeped in ancestral Indigenous traditions, each piece intentionally created with Good Medicine. I have exhibited and sold artwork at shows and galleries since 2015; beginning winter 2025, my jewelry and prints can be found at the Burke Museum. I love offering beautiful heirloom pieces in many forms. My mediums include oil, watercolor, and mixed media paintings and drawings; leatherwork; and quill, bone, horn, stone, and beadwork jewelry.
My Indigenous Elders of my Bear Clan Wabanaki blood lineage have honored me in learning, carrying forward, preserving, and sharing our unique ancestral style of quill earrings; art; traditions, and history. My Scot-Irish family have also long created as artists, and I am deeply grateful for my inherited collective abilities, gifts and knowledge. I hope to honor all my Elders, Ancestors, and Peoples through my work.
