I was born into an artistic family. My older sister was gifted with watercolors. My brother's talents involved filmmaking and music. But when I was a child, I had impaired fine motor skills that persist to this day. Attempts at producing art involving grasp such as detailed painting, using colored pencils and drawing left me frustrated and defeated. But, when I was 19, I found myself standing in the art supplies section of my university bookstore. For the first time I saw bright acrylics and wide handled sponge brushes. I was home. I had found my voice. My custom pieces symbolize an experience, a struggle, a victory unique to one, yet common to all. They represent issues that may be too taboo or shame- filled to discuss openly My opportunistic style says three quiet part out loud...
