Anissa Wheeler-White (b. 2003 Philadelphia) is a boundary-breaking, queer, African-American multimedia artist based in Chicago, IL. Drawing on influences from their past and present, their ever-evolving works are described as "never truly finished." Born and raised in Philadelphia, Anissa’s parents became the catalyst for their love of art and their friends their biggest inspiration. Even though they worked with kids for most of their young adult life, they knew their heart was with making art especially after their time as a student ambassador for a nonprofit arts organization called Fresh Artists. Now, as a college student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, they explore various materials and techniques, pushing boundaries with vibrant colors.
