Eli Tatosian is an interdisciplinary artist based in Algonquin, Illinois. They graduated from North Central College with a bachelor degree in Studio Art in 2023. Previously a self-taught artist, Tatosian received formal instruction in using acrylics, watercolor, graphite, charcoal, oil pastel, ink, colored pencil, and other two-dimensional media. They also learned ceramics under Tom Vician at McHenry Community College. Tatosian has always been enamored with the human form and spent many years drawing portraits and figure studies; these subjects are still frequent within their works. Additionally, they are inspired by their dreams, having kept a dream journal for over six years. Nonreality and ephemeral liminality are both heavy inspirations for their work, which often has a surrealist or uncanny flavor to it.
