Emma Kapiolani Hughes is a painter and multimedia crafter praying to ancient gods and grocery store packaging. Originally from Santa Rosa, California, she is currently completing a BFA at California State University, Long Beach. She is interested in depicting Western consumerism in its hollow glory, drawing from her suburban upbringing and proximity to both European American and Indigenous cultural signifiers.
