Meredith is a self-taught artist based in Asheville, NC, working under the moniker Merry Death Studio. She has been fascinated with all types of art and crafts since childhood and enjoys blending techniques and styles to achieve vivid and textured works typically featuring bright colors and contrast. Currently, she works primarily in acrylic and canvas, cross stitch and textiles, and polymer clay. Meredith finds inspiration in everything from fashion and photography to household objects to her own imagination. She enjoys thrifting and using found objects to create new works. Meredith believes that the power of art comes from its ability to span from galleries and collectors to brick walls and boxcars, and that an artist is an artist now matter how, what, or why they create. Meredith has been a member of the Art-o-mat program since 2017, and sells at various local coffee shops and breweries around the mountains of Western North Carolina.
