Coming from Varanasi, India, Ayushi has been surrounded by colors that are often scene in an Indian context. Washed in the southern sun, these colors take their very varied forms in juxtaposition to other colors forming these unique palettes in markets, streets, and temples all over the country. Her paintings combine this color inspiration through a cubist, impressionist, illustrative, and sometimes, abstract mindset to create figurative elements in her artwork that are pulled together on the canvas with--what she refers to as--a disintegrating thread.
