Alonzo Troy Humphrey is an artist born in Chattanooga, Tennessee who currently resides in Philadelphia. Alonzo has been drawing for as long as he can remember. He has fond memories of his mother teaching him how to draw as a child. Since then, Alonzo’s practice has evolved into a beautiful variety of subject matter, technique, and inspiration. You may notice the variety in his work, with some pieces being very simplistic and controlled, while others are energetic and moody. He enjoys drawing portraits, transportation, animals, architecture, and other scenes, the majority of which are from his memory. Alonzo’s work explores a variety of topics such as religion, historical events, and the human form. For Alonzo, making art is a natural and cathartic experience. Alonzo takes great pride in the sales and recognition of his work and is motivated to continue expanding and sharing his practice.
