How did you get started as an artist?

My love for art started at an early age, learning watercolor from my father who is also an artist. I followed my passion and graduated from Ringling College of Art & Design with a BFA in Illustration. Since then, I have been working in the creative field as a graphic designer, freelance Illustrator, and I currently show my watercolor paintings at A Very Serious Gallery.

What themes does your work involve?

My body of work celebrates everyday life from an elevated perspective. Showcasing the importance and meaning placed on certain objects that can appear ordinary at first glance. Through these mementos and memories, I aim to show a glimpse into the complexities, simplicities, and chaos that is found within domestic life.

I use watercolor in a nontraditional sense, creating vibrant deep colors and delicate details to achieve my signature style

Can you describe your creative process?

I use watercolor in a nontraditional sense, creating vibrant deep colors and delicate details to achieve my signature style. Each work is crafted with only watercolor and a uniform micron pen outline, lending a sense of dynamism to the compositions and allowing objects to pop from the page.

Do you have any artistic goals for the future that you would like to share?

I am always working to expand my portfolio, whether that is the subject matter, the technique, or mixed mediums. I have a group showing from July 13th through August 10th at A Very Serious Gallery where I will be debuting a new series of work that speaks to equality in the professional sports world.
