Tell a little bit about how you first got into creating art.

I started out drawing like most kids do, just doodling anywhere, on anything. I grew up watching Walt Disney Animation movies and the magic behind each story. I started to draw the characters and understand each story as I watched it. As I got older art was my favorite subject all through high school. I decided to peruse my BFA in Illustration at Academy of Art University upon graduation high school.

What is important to you about the visual experiences you create?

The most important thing about my work and the visual experience, is to have people use their imagination when they look at my work without any context to what they are looking at. I love the storytelling behind narrative illustration and the imagination that is used to convey the story. The ability to look at my work and have people interpret my work in their own way makes me happy!

Do you have any artistic goals for the future that you would like to share?

Once I earned my degree, I knew I wanted to be a part of the art world. I strive to be a part of children’s book illustration and or animation movies. I have a true passion for commissioning people’s pets and will continue that within the near future. I would love the opportunity to work within the industry of illustration.
