Carlos Robert (Ponce, Puerto Rico) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, and architecture, articulated through an intuitive and deeply atmospheric visual language. He initially trained under the guidance of Oliva Mercado and at the School of Painting of master artist José Azaústre, where he refined his command of pastel and oil painting. His education at SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), combined with his architectural background, informs a practice that integrates structural rigor with gestural and emotional expression. Roberts’ work explores the relationship between body, movement, and territory. In his paintings, form fragments and suspends, generating spatial fields that evoke vibration, light, and organic resonance. Architecture, rather than serving as a literal reference, functions as an underlying and invisible structure. Balance, proportion, and tension engage in dialogue with the spontaneity of the gesture.
