I am an Arizona-born artist currently living in Seattle, Washington. I am currently pursuing a BFA in Visual Arts from Cornish College of the Arts and a BA in Liberal Studies at Arizona State University. My art is informed by degradation, a fear of aging, chronic illness, nature, and the relationship between a person and their items. Common things inspire me; construction sites, medical records, messes, plants, isopods, cellular biology, ect. Through my oil paintings, I explore ways that depth can be carefully and believably constructed and then fractured and flattened at key points. I take inspiration from surrealist collage techniques to create compositions that defy reality and are mainly comprised of objects.
